I currently live in Kansas City, Missouri with my husband, and am also a proud mother of one daughter. My priorities are God first, family, and country.
As a seasoned professional, my business is Life and Health insurance solutions for all. Medicare is a specialty of mine, as my passion is helping aging adults and those with disabilities to understand and navigate the complexities of Medicare. I make it my business to simplify the process and options available within the Medicare program and walk people through each step to begin their Medicare journey and each day forward.
My professional and personal history has helped me to become the person I am today, and I never stop learning. Prior to transitioning into the insurance field back in 2015, I spent about 30 years as a real estate professional mostly as a Realtor, but also as a mortgage loan officer and escrow officer. Prior to real estate, I spent about 10 years in higher education administration, and then also about 5 years in the IT industry. Please, do not add up the years, as they have flown by so quickly.
I consider all my work history as service. Service to each and everyone I have had contact with and the opportunity to be of assistance in whatever capacity my skillset was able to provide. You are eligible to apply for Medicare during your initial enrollment period which is a 7 month window. 3 months before turning 65, the month you turn 65 and 3 months after turning 65.
The easiest way to sign up for Medicare is online through SSA.gov or by Calling Social Security at 1-800-772-1213. You can also visit your local Social Security Office.
If you are already receiving Social Security Benefits you will be automatically enrolled into Original Medicare, otherwise you will be eligible to enroll during your initial enrollment period that starts 3 months before your 65th birthday.
If you miss your Initial Enrollment Period you can sign up during the General Enrollment period that occurs every year January 1st through March 31st. Coverage becomes effective the month following your enrollment date.
Yes, there are penalties for not signing up for Part B of Medicare and will be added to your premium.
If you need a new Medicare card you can order a replacement card by phone at 1-800-772-1213, or online at the Social Security Administration web site. Make sure you have your Medicare number ready when you call.
